After graduating from Bucknell University, Joel moved to the Washington DC Metropolitan area to embark upon his future. Although at the time, Joel had not considered real estate as a career path, it accidentally fell into his lap. His first real estate license was obtained in the District of Columbia and in a few years, he quickly made a name for himself as the “investor’s agent.” From his leadership, guidance, and deep knowledge of market analytics/demand, many real estate investors increased their portfolios and exponentially maximized their revenue. In most cases, Joel helped them realize their property’s potential by yielding additional revenue in the tens of thousands in just a twelve-month period. Joel would eventually obtain his broker’s license in the state of Virginia in 2010, working out of a couple of the larger firms in the Metropolitan area. By helping family and friends, buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants, Joel honed his craft. Joel’s clients range from first-time home buyers to corporate CEOs and even esteemed members in the United States Congress. In 2019, Joel embarked upon a new mission: opening his own brokerage. In this phase of his career, he is focused on paying it forward by providing an opportunity for colleagues to hang their licenses at his firm and helping them maximize their potential. Joel has continued to transact but has also provided many agents in the area with a growth opportunity by providing an affordable, straightforward, and cutting-edge platform. Whether conducting training, consulting, or coaching, Joel has been a prominent voice amongst his peers. Realizing a major shift was coming in the industry, Joel quickly re-invented his brokerage and thus, AXIS Real Estate was born in May 2023. At its core, AXIS Real Estate is a coming together, focal point, a central part to which all other parts are connected. Synonymous with nucleus, center, focus, alliance, fusion, family & trust, AXIS Real Estate is more than just your usual brokerage. AXIS agents not only benefit from superior technology, support & training, but are also part of a united movement that embraces the future of the real estate industry. Joel & AXIS have broken through barriers to create a brokerage model for all agents who desire stability & modernity in this rapidly changing industry. Joel has maintained relationships with all his clientele over his 25-year career. He serves on two committees at NVAR, is a member of the Top Producers Club & most recently was recognized by Apple News as one of The Top 10 Real Estate Experts in Virginia 2023. Joel and his wife reside in Fairfax County with their two daughters and little kitty cat. In his spare time, you will find Joel enjoying the outdoors, youth sports, vacationing, studying history, or playing in his 3-piece blues band.
